Under new management, The Jura Hotel is an excellent base for island exploration—whether heading to Barnhill (George Orwell’s former residence), visiting local distilleries, hiking the Paps of Jura or viewing the Corryvreckan Whirlpool.
The Hotel offers 17 bedrooms, each thoughtfully furnished in traditional island style. Many rooms feature sea views and contemporary en-suite bathrooms, providing a peaceful and relaxing stay.
Shared spaces include a Residents’ Lounge, Public Bar and Restaurant, as well as a beer garden – ideal for relaxing after a hard day of exploring.
The contemporary Scottish Restaurant makes full use of local produce when available and serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Camping is also available on hotel grounds – including a large camping field, shower block, toilet and laundry facilities.
