About Cala Sith Self Catering:
Cala Sith is a renovated traditional Islay stone cottage, conveniently situated in the centre of the conservation village of Port Charlotte. The self catering accommodation will sleep up to six adults, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms upstairs, and a large comfortable lounge and separate kitchen/dining room on the ground floor. Wifi broadband is available in the lounge for internet access, along with a TV and a DVD player. The house is offered on a weekly self-catering basis.
Almost all village amenities are within a short walking distance. For families, there is a fishing pier and a safe sandy beach close by, and a playground at the Port Mor Center. The Museum of Islay Life and the Nature Centre are located in the village. For eating out, the Port Charlotte hotel,the Lochindaal hotel and a seafood restaurant provide excellent fare. The village shop/post office/petrol station is also nearby.
The house is well situated for visits to Islay’s other attractions; the whisky distilleries, the RSPB Centre, and the island’s several historic and heritage sites. Sports and outdoor activities available include fishing (sea, loch and river), boating, pony trekking, bird watching, golf at the championship Machrie links course, swimming at the Mactaggart Leisure Centre indoor pool, bicycling, nature walks or simply relaxing on the island’s several extraordinary beaches. Evenings can be just as active, especially during high season, with many festivals, live performances and events held throughout the year.
The house is designed as a comfortable ‘home away from home’ for visitors to Islay and is used by the owners family each year for their own holidays. In summary, a family friendly holiday home designed specifically for Islay’s ‘and it’s goodbye to care’ lifestyle. The house is non-smoking.
