About Drumlanrig Cottage:

A beautiful rural setting close to Islay’s most fabulous beaches.

On the edge of the small cluster of houses known as Carnduncan, nestled on a low ridge with beautiful west-facing views over a loch towards Islay’s atlantic coast, Drumlanrig is an 1850s stone-built cottage providing characterful self catering holiday accommodation for up to 6 people. The location is peaceful and private without being isolated.

Close to an RSPB reserve, and within a Site of Special Scientific Interest, Drumlanrig is surrounded by outstanding landscapes and wildlife. The coastline of sandy beaches, rock pools and wild Atlantic waves is just two miles away. Moorlands, peat-brown burns, rocky hillsides, ancient standing stones and medieval churches invite exploration; you can ride ponies, fish in a loch, buy local oysters and enjoy coffee in a small art gallery. A little further afield are cafes, restaurants, shops and of course distilleries. . .

“We had a really wonderful time at Drumlanrig the views are quite stunning and your house is beautiful.”  –  LC, April 2017

With two double and two single bedrooms, Drumlanrig can accommodate up to six people in comfort.

The living spaces feature beamed ceilings, a large farmhouse style kitchen with a range-style cooker and a comfortable lounge with a log-burning stove. A glazed porch, with seating, leads to a secluded terrace.

The beautiful, uninterrupted views from each of these spaces face south and west over Loch Gorm towards Saligo Bay and Kilchoman. The sunsets can be stunning.

With oil-fired central heating and double glazing, the house is very warm, but the wood-burning stove adds a cosy ambience on cool evenings. The log shed is well stocked.

There is plenty of space for running around in the fenced garden to the south and west of the house as well as an upstairs playroom with cupboards full of toys and games. A large shed provides plenty of space for bicycles, motorbikes and sporting equipment.
