About Ellister Lodge:
Ellister Lodge is a modern, spacious, elevated retreat with breath-taking sea views over Loch Indaal to the Oa and Northern Ireland. Sleeping up to 8 in comfortable well-appointed accommodation, it’s near the popular seaside villages of Port Charlotte and Portnahaven on the Rinns of Islay.
We have three doubles, all with their own bathroom/shower room and a twin-bed study with cloakroom.
The house sits on a good-sized plot in a natural setting, on the 300-acre Easter Ellister estate, surrounded by all kinds of livestock and wildlife. The large plot has extensive decking and (enclosed, safe) viewing and relaxing platforms, along with plenty of parking. Ellister Lodge is fully accessible with access ramps, three sets of French windows, modern-width internal doorways and of course Wi-Fi to stay connected.
Fully insulated with full double glazing, the property has a new central heating system, wood-burning stove in the sitting room and wood-fired Esse range in the kitchen (as well as an electric stove). Much of the furniture is new; floors are a mix of stone, wood and carpet in the bedrooms. All linen, towels and bathmats provided.
You could practically live in the huge kitchen with its excellent facilities and adjoining utility – as you’d expect, there are all the usual devices you’d have at home. There is also a 30’ sitting room with big windows, high-grade sound system, Fender acoustic guitar and 4” reflector telescope.
Outside, as well as the massive decks, there’s a barbecue and in one of the outbuildings, two adult bikes for you to use.
So far all reviews on Trip Advisor have given us five stars. As they say:
“Lovely house, plenty of space, fabulous views. Really nice helpful owner, nothing too much trouble. The kitchen was great to use and really well equipped. In fact, everything in the house was fresh and clean. We were sad to leave and wouldn’t hesitate to go back.”
Sorry no smoking indoors.
