About Islay Ales:
Visit Islay Ales brewery to see our award winning cask and bottle conditioned ales being produced. Take a free tour of the brewhouse where the process starts, admire the skills of hand bottling and labelling (when available), talk to our welcoming and informative staff whilst you taste the ales.
Our beers are all cask or bottle conditioned, neither filtered nor pasteurised, so the beer continues to ferment and gain “condition” within the cask or bottle before consumption. This beer is recognised as “real ale” by CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale).
In addition to purchasing our ales at the brewery they can be bought from a variety of outlets locally, enjoyed in local hotels and restaurants and sipped whilst cruising on the Calmac ferry to and from Islay.
Islay Ale also travels: available by mail order across the UK , from an increasing number of outlets off Islay and exported to Switzerland, France, Germany and Japan. Please see our website for details.
If you are visiting Islay for the annual Festival of Malt & Music/ Feis Ile do join us for our open day to enjoy good beer, music, food and friendship in the Islay sunshine.
