About Islay Cottages – Self Catering Holidays:
We offer first class self-catering holiday accommodation in both rural Kilchoman and the main village of Bowmore on the Isle Of Islay. Kilchoman is particularly suited to families in the summer, close to huge sandy beaches with a safe environment. It is also very well placed for wildlife enthusiasts, particularly those interested in birds. Kilchoman Distillery is only a short distance away for whisky lovers.
Kilchoman House is set in grounds of 37 acres and situated on the west coast of Islay next door to a magnificent mile-long sandy beach. The main house, an 1820s former manse, is thought to be built on the site of the Lords of the Isles summer palace. The house has been fully restored and beautifully furnished and sleeps up to twelve. Kilchoman House is ideal both for families sharing, fishing and sporting parties and groups of holidaymakers. There is a formal dining room, ideal for evening entertainment.
Kilchoman Cottages stand further up the hill from the house. The five cottages, two or three bedroom, they offer excellent self-catering accommodation. Named after the beaches of Islay, all have open fires, central heating and provide comfortable, secure accommodation in a lovely setting. There are laundry facilities on-site and we can arrange for covered storage for bikes if required.
Dundonald which stands in the Square in Bowmore is well placed for touring the island and is on the main bus route, which is useful for distillery tours. In the centre of the village close to restaurants and Bowmore Distillery. It has two bedrooms, a large sitting room with an open fire and a large dining kitchen. The garden backs onto Lochindaal. Completely refurbished it offers a convenient central location for all parts of the island.
All of the houses have WiFi, Satellite TV, and normal modern conveniences and we can offer discounted meals at the Peatzeria in Bowmore to residents.
