Workshops with Emma Baker.
Emma is a mosaic and felt maker based just outside of Port Ellen. She has a a studio in her garden where she works and runs workshops. Mosaics are made from vintage china, found items including sea glass, pottery and stones gathered along Islay’s shores, and mosaic tiles and glass. Wet felted pictures, which are often seascapes, are created using merino wool and various threads and silks for embellishment, inspired by the colours of Islay through all seasons and weathers.
“My work is a mixture of commissions and items that I make to sell direct and in local shops on Islay and further afield,” says Emma. “I create mosaics for all occasions, personalising them to individual needs. I feel I have a particular flair for making work that is personal and captures moments in people’s lives such as anniversaries and birthdays or places that are important to them.”

Workshops are about fun, relaxing and being creative with family and friends.
Bespoke mosaic workshops (groups of families or friends) 3 – 6 participants – 2.5 hours – From £35 pp
Bespoke felt making workshops (groups of families or friends) 2 – 4 participants – 2.5 hours – From £50 pp
Emma also runs a few themed workshops where you can book individual places, these are advertised on her social media accounts.
