Golf, Yoga, wild swimming, meditation, wildlife and photography, whisky and more – special breaks for making memories, relaxing and reviving here on Islay, all on your doorstep at Another Place The Machrie
Set on rolling dunes overlooking the Atlantic, The Machrie, Islay, has an internationally renowned reputation for its championship links course, drawing players from around the globe – currently ranked 78 in Golf World’s Top 100 best courses in the world, but this stunning hotel offers so much more

An iconic Scottish links stretching over 7,000 yards from the back tees, it is an original Willie Campbell design dating back to 1891. Redesigned in 2018 by David J. Russell to modern championship standards, the course is now designed to be played in all conditions and is open to residents and non-residents.
There is also the new 19-hole social putting course ‘The Hebrides’ offering a fun and accessible game for groups, learners and families, a six-hole par-3 ‘Wee course’ and short-game area. State-of-the-art practice facilities include a Trackman simulator, covered driving range and electric golf buggies, with on-site pro shop for all of your club hire and equipment needs.
This year there are already three competitive golfing events planned for this challenging course.
