Our distilleries are a great tourist attraction all year round, with tours, talks and tastings as well as visitor centres, shops, bars, cafes and restaurants.
Here’s a list of the opening hours, contacts and main facilities for the islands whisky, gin, rum and craft ale producers.
Ardnahoe – Visitor Centre Opening times: Tuesday—Saturday 9:30am—5pm (closed Sunday & Monday) Café & Bar—open 9:30 till 4pm Tuesday – Saturday. Selling hot & cold beverages as well as a wide range of whisky. Cakes, scones & savoury snacks also available. No booking required. Seating subject to availability. (Please note the sale of alcohol is not permitted until 10:30am.) Opening times fixed summer season– until 31st October. Experience timetable subject to change from July due to staffing levels. Dogs are allowed in the shop and designated seating areas in the bar.

Ardbeg – Ardbeg Distillery Visitor Centre and shop is open for Classic tours, pop up tasting flights and great merchandise
Opening Hours: throughout the year are:
- January ’26 – April ’26 / Monday – Friday / 9.30am – 5pm
- May ’26 – September ’26 / Seven Days / 9.30am – 5pm
- October ’26 – December ’26 / Monday – Friday / 9.30am – 5pm

The Old Kiln Café at Ardbeg is open indoors in winter and spring with morning coffees and cakes from 10 to 12 and great home-cooked lunches from 1200 to 1530. In Summer food and drink, lunches, lightbites and snacks are available at the Ardstream trailer in the courtyard.
Bruichladdich – The Laddie shop and visitor centre is open seven days a week from from 10:00 – 17:30 (last tastings 17:00) from April 1 – October 31, 2026 (From November to February it opens Tuesday to Sunday, 09:45 to 17:00). Tours for Bruichladdich Whisky and The Botanist Gin can be booked, as well as tastings and experiences. The shop and bar serves a range of drams and cocktails as well as complimentary tastes.

Bowmore – The distillery is open to visitors all year round Mondays to Thursdays 9.30am to 5pm; Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday 9.30am to 5pm. Sundays closed.
The recently refurbished shop and bar, overlooking loch Indaal, serves a great selection of Bowmore whisky, cocktails, and soft drinks. From the April 1, 2026, they have also introduced coffee and a range of bar snacks, giving visitors even more reasons to stop by and enjoy the view. Choose from our carefully curated whisky tasting menu and discover some of Bowmore’s rarest and most exclusive single malts.

Bunnahabhain – Visitor Centre’s opening hours are 10am until 5pm seven days a week.

Caol Ila – Caol Ila is open 7 days a week 10am-5pm from March to November. (From November through to February (inclusive) It will close at 4pm and we’ll also be closed on Sundays.)

Islay Rum – The Islay Rum Distillery in Port Ellen occupies a lovingly restored art-deco landmark “The Old Lemonade Factory” making history as the first and only rum distillery on the Isle of Islay. You can bring children with you on our tours but they must be a minimum of 8 years old. Jura Whisky expressions and a selection of merchandise are available in the distillery visitor centre. Kilchoman – The Visitor Centre, Shop & Café is open seven days a week. Visitor centre is open 9.30am to 5pm where you can shop, enjoy the whisky bar or book tours and tastings. The café is open for lunches between noon and 15.30pm (booking essential) A selection of teas, barista-style coffee and homebaking is served from 9.45am to 16.30pm.
