Tourism Summit on Islay – Monday February 5

Explore Islay and Jura is delighted to announce that it has organised a Tourism Summit to take place at Kilchoman Distillery, on February 5, between 10am and 5pm.

Speakers include: Richard Lochhead , Minister for Small Business, Innovation, Tourism and Trade; Mark Crothall MBE, Chief Executive, Scottish Tourism Alliance; Fiona Campbell, Chief Executive, The Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers; Vicki Miller, Director of Marketing & Digital, Visit Scotland; Peter Griffiths, Senior Marketing Manager, Calmac; Gordon McIntyre, Founder of Hospitality Health who was announced as an MBE in the New Years’ Honours list; Morag Goodfellow, Area Manager Argyll and the Islands, Highlands and Islands Enterprise; Brigadier David Allfrey MBE, Former CEO and Producer of Edinburgh Tattoo and holder of the Silver Thistle Award.

They will be speaking on a range of topics including: Data insights and marketing; food and drink; diversification; Agri-tourism; Transport; Resilience and change in the hospitality industry; understanding legislation changes; Renewable energy and tourism.

It will be a seated event and numbers are limited. There will be opportunities for networking and to browse displays of locally-produced products.
